Todo lo que chroot hace es, para todos los procesos hijo, reemplazar el directorio raíz con uno especificado.

Levantando una red dentro de un chroot /tmp/custom/debian-live/chroot/

# mount -o bind /sys /tmp/personalizado/debian-live/chroot/sys
# mount -o bind /proc /tmp/personalizado/debian-live/chroot/proc
# chroot /tmp/personalizado/debian-live/chroot/

Ahora dentro de chroot usted podría necesitar reestablecer la red para que cosas como route/dns puedan configurarse.

# dhclient eth0

Esto es útil para probar y configurar un sistema que está para ser distribuido, p.e.DebianLive.
